i got a virus or infection on my pc.?

it has replaced my desktop image with a blue background and a black box saying with big red letter your system is infected! my pc is kinda going slow. and 2 red X's keep popping up. my speakers arent working neither. also a warning message comes up saying " Attention! System detected a potential hazard (trojanSPM/LX) on your computer that may infect executable files. You (its a scam cuz they misspelled YOUR!) private information and PC safety is at rick. To get rid of unwanted spyware and keep your computer safe you need ( again forgot to type in YOUR) update your current security software. Click ok to download official intrusion detection System (IDS software) umm how can i get rid of this without losing all my pics and files. Umm how i got this, i search on google what rhymes with Travel and i clickd a website and it frozed on me and this came up. i need help. please? asap, peace,love, care

Oh, that sucks.
Try doing a system restore on restart.
1. Turn off the computer
2. Turn the computer on
3. At the first sign of life from the comp, beep, flash, light flicker, anything, hit F8 a bunch of times
4. This should get you to the boot options menu
5. Choose Safe Mode and hit Enter
6. You may have to choose your operating system, even if there is only one. Do that and hit enter.
7. Log into your account
8. At this point, a window will come up telling you that you can either continue on into Safe Mode or do a system restore. Do the system restore.

It may not work, as sometimes these viruses are good at knowing what you are going to do and disable system restore, along with the Task Manager, your antivirus program, any connection to an antivirus site, etc.

If the system restore does not work, let me know and I will give you further instructions on how to get rid of this thing.
